Sloe gin fun

On Saturday we took a trip up to Devils Dyke in East Sussex to go Sloe berry picking. At first we were a little disheartened as it felt like most of the berries apart from two had been picked by quicker foragers than us!

We had a tea break and then decided to walk along the other side of the valley. It took a while but we found rather a few in the end. It was such a good day, we all came back with many scratches but enough berries to make a fair amount of Sloe gin just in time for Christmas. I have drawn up the recipe incase anyone fancies making some.

Here's my gin with the berries and sugar, all ready with my Christmas decoration!
